Final - Hannah

Hi Nino! Not sure if you'll see this but I'm hoping you will - here is my completed work. I really loved what you showed me in the last lesson!! especially with adding the bigger cracks and going across her shoulder and face! Thank you so much for helping me push this idea and find something I'm really happy with.

I wanted to the lighter blue in the end, and I personally felt like the bit of yellow "paint" behind her tied something together - I was worried it may detract for her eyes being a focus, but I feel like it worked?

I do feel like I didn't quite practice the examples of composition and directional lines and circles, so I'm going to really practice that in my next piece.

Thank you so much again, I've gained a lot of confidence through your lessons, and I'm hoping to join another class early next year.. Hopefully it will work out for me to be online for the sessions :)

Alexandra Bernier - Homework Week 9

I'm really sad submitting an unfinished painting but I had to replace my graphic tablet since it stopped working and it slowed me down so much but I will definitely keep working on it now that I have a working tablet XD

Hannah: Week 9 - Final

Hi! I apologize for submitting unfinished work. I tried so many ideas for the background after the last session, I only really settled on this one yesterday! I have every intention of seeing this project through, so I figured I would share where I'm currently at instead of not at all..

I'm really proud of the progression of my idea, particularly the background after everything. I still need to add detail to the woman and the birds (the one on the right in particular.)

I would really love if you have tips for me for the glowing eyes? For example, do I leave out irises and pupils entirely to really get that effect? I am struggling there..

I also reuploaded the image of where I was last week for reference of what I've done this week, and the references had decided on that I did not include in my upload last week.

Thank you so much for your feedback over the course. It's been an incredibly inspiring experience :)

Sofian- Week 9

Hey Nino, this isn't really complete yet, but I'd like to have as much feedback as you can give.
I'm also wondering what I can do to make this character more grounded and any tips to draw simple environments for character focused illustrations next time.
Thank you.

Donatien Meeùs - Final homework

Hi, here is my final illustration. There is still a lot of room for improvement, but it's already far better than 1 year ago. Thanks for those 10 weeks Nino, it helped me so much!

As a reminder, here is what I did last year

Jason Liu - week 10 - final work

I still need a lot to finish as i rushed on a lot of places, but I have a hard time finding the shadows and lights for the skin colour. i don't know how to find the right tone of colour and it ends up looking dirty. I wanted to add the effect of a mirror in front of the image, but i have no clue how to do it.

In the end, I changed my drawing to a completely new one because i keep hesitating on what to do for 4-5 days straight, so I made something much simpler to do.

I also find that the background colour is too similar to the drawings i did but i don't know which selection of colour to match with it.

Arielle- Final homework

theres many things i want to nitpick at, and add more jewelry to the antlers, but finished is better than perfect, so here is my piece

I kept tweaking until i thought it was interesting enough, and by then i had added 2 extra light sources to my troubles, so this was definitely way harder than i initially wanted!
And i struggled with the right contrasts/values while keeping the focus on her head and sorta gave up toward the end...because such is life
But this was very fun, and if it wasnt for your class i wouldnt have pushed myself this hard so thank you Nino!
