Arielle- Homework 4, and progress on hmw3
This one was surprisingly easy, i think having rough brushstrokes helped me work more efficiently somce i focused more on tones and values than polish. Making the face orange enough and bright enough without destroying the value balance was hard though.

Aurélie Drapeau - Week #4 Homework
It's far from being perfect, but I'm rather impressed on how it turned out! Rendering has always been a weakness of mine. Spent about 2h30.

Sofian - Week 3
Hey Nino, I really struggled a lot with this assignment since I rarely do realistic paintings. Some of my colours are off, and I struggled a lot with details, especially the eyes.
Vincent Reyes/ Week 3 Homework
Hi Nino! I was not going to post this week because it's still a WIP.
I've been enjoing the process a lot! it has been bit of a challenge going full color and cause I dont paint/draw men that often.
I'm sorry for the unfinished post, any feedback is highly appreciated :)

Alexandra Bernier - Week 3 Homework
I chose this sculpture since it is one of my favorite Greek myth, Eros and Psyche. It took a lot more time then I anticipated but I really liked working on this, especially with the effects of the light on the statues.
Drake Gomez--Week 3 homework
I set out to paint the whole body, but as it turned out, I didn't even have time to finish the hair. I think the face and ear are finished, though I know some of the colors are off. I'd probably have to finish the whole head and then go back and make color adjustments.
Jedrzej Nyka - Week 3
Hello,
I chose to work from a bust of the Emperor Antoninus Pius.
Now that I'm uploading the work I see I haven't put enough time towards the robes, but I think the shapes and tones are there. I also think I could have worked on the face proportions a bit more, and perhaps enlarged the eyes and nose a little. I think the colour was a little bit of a struggle,it's a bit off in some places.
I used the default brush with scattering/transfer most of the time, then used some texture brushes at the end to try to evoke some of the stone material, especially since the bust is rough and damaged in places.
Looking forward to the next session
Thanks,
Jędrzej
BRUNO WICKES WEEK2
Hi Nino
Unfortunately I cant make this week due to work commitments but will be back next week.
I should mention I'm quite severely Deuteranopia colour blind. So doing colour with out some level of picking or pallet definition is not impossible, but very very very difficult. I work but running the image though abode colour and creating a pallets from that and working from it. It has its difficulties but so does everything :). I can see colour but its hard to define with out comparative reference and some colours can look exactly the same or very similar.
Found the week quite challenging but great from a learning point of view. I had big problems with the hair on both images. On the colour image I couldn't get it to much past the point I got to in the black and white image. I scrubbed it to start the hair again and was redoing it but and ran out of time. I find I can get an image to a level of roughness I achieved in the colour image but not much further. Hopefully you could give me some feedback on where to go from here?
Many thanks
Bruno

Aurélie Drapeau - Week #3 Homework
I didn't have much time to do the homework this week... my second dose of covid vaccine hit way harder than expected :(
So I focused my efforts on the features of the face. I really need to hone my rendering skills, probably the only thing I got right in my opinion is the colour palette...
But Hey! That's why I'm taking this course in the first place ;) looking forward for feedback next class!

Sofian - Week 2
Hey Nino, I really enjoyed this assignment.
I feel like I learned a lot from it, although there's obviously a lot of room to improve, especially with proportions and placement.
I picked pieces that I feel like would challenge me quite a bit.
The first is my own screenshot from Death Stranding, the second piece is from Tim Lochner, a German concept artist and illustrator, and the final piece is from Krenz Cushart, a Taiwanese Illustrator and teacher.
I'll provide their artstations here for anyone interested:

Drake Gomez--Week 2 homework
Didn't get to the third thumbnail. All my stills are chosen from film noir movies, as I wanted to study the values and dramatic lighting used in those movies. I also like the compositions of these stills.

BRUNO WICKES - WEEK 2 HOMEWORK
Jedrzej Nyka - Week 2 homework
Hello,
I'm uploading a few thumbnails, I set myself time limits and tried to do what I can within the given period. I tried to keep around 1minute 'free' at the end so I could always make any obvious fixes I missed or spend that time with the smudge tool (definitely my friend during this assignment, and I never really used it properly in the past).
I followed the tips for just using a standard 80% hardness brush for these, played around with scattering, transfer and flow a lot but did not really change opacity. It really opened my eyes, as in the past I pretty much always used the pressure-sensitive brushes without even thinking about it.
I really enjoyed the assignment so I did a few more! I think overall the island one and the two stålenhag ones are my favourite, and the LOTR one gave me the hardest time, big issues with proportions as well.
